Ubajay is native to Argentina where the fruits are sold in local markets but has not made it into mass distribution and thus is virtually unknown in the states. Ubajay also known as Uvaia or Uvalha in South america is a Plum sized fruit with flavor ranging from slightly sour to extremly sweet. Simmilar to a peach in consistancy. Due to the varried nature of the fruits produced from seedlings I will more than likley start grafting these in the future once I nail down some proven favorites. Fruits can be eaten out of hand but are ideal for making preserves. Trees are evergreens and produce fruits through out the summer season. Trees can handle mild freezing temperatures once mature but should be protected while young.
