Morenga is a highly nutritious and sought after plant. Commercially the plants are grown dried powdered and put into supplemental pills sold here in the US. These plants are particularly important to breastfeeding mothers and people recovering from malnutrition. The entire plant is edible however most common are the leaves which have little to no flavor. The plant itself can grow very tall if not cut back and though it handles frosts a freeze will kill it back to the ground where it typically regrows the following year from the root ball. Morenga prefers well draining fertile soil however its biggest limiting factor is water and light, given plenty of both it should grow vergerously and can be maintained at any height.
