Natal Plums are a medium, slow growing bush that take well to pruning and have a very unique look to them when they are not flowering or fruiting. The flowers are very aromatic, reminiscent of jasmine and honeysuckle. The fruit makes excellent preserves or sauces as its slightly astringent when eaten out of hand. Flavors are slightly sweet with a tart kick. Reminiscent of passion fruit and slightly citrusy. The seeds can be scooped out much like a melon. Recovers from frost damage but must be protected against freezing.
