Natal Plums are a small, slow growing bush that take well to prunning and have a very unique look to them when they are not flowering or fruiting. The flowers are very aromatic, reminiscent of jasmine and honeysuckle. The fruit can be eaten fresh out of hand or makes excelent preserves. Flavors are slightly sweet with a tart kick. Reminiscent of passion fruit and slightly citrusy. The seeds can be scooped out much like a melon. Recoveres from frost damage but must be protected against freezing. Ideal plant for putting along sidewalks and entryways.
